Interview with Dr. J. Wright Horton

In this interview with Dr. Wright Horton, geologist for the U.S. Geological Survey, specific details and repercussions of the earthquake are discussed.

Dr. J. Wright Horton is a Research Geologist in the USGS Eastern Geology and Paleoclimate Science Center. He is an authority on southern and central Appalachian geology, served as co-leader and leader of the USGS Chesapeake Bay Impact Crater Project, and is now exploring and mapping pre-Cretaceous subsurface terranes and buried basins beneath the Atlantic Coastal Plain. A Fellow of the Geological Society of America, he earned a B.S. from Furman University, M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and taught at the University of Southern Maine before joining USGS as a National Research Council Postdoctoral Associate in 1978.
